Biography
Priya, a synthetic biologist and biochemist by training, is developing high throughput assay platforms at Arbor. Prior to joining Arbor, Priya did her post-doctoral work at MIT, where her work was focused on phage engineering and building phagemid based synthetic biology tool kits for pathway engineering and recombinase based state machines. She obtained her Ph.D. in Pharmacognosy and Biotechnology from University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) where she studied the mechanism of antibiotic dependent arrest of protein synthesis to understand the action of antibiotics and antibiotic resistance at a molecular level enabling discovery of novel antibiotics. She received her B. Tech in Industrial Biotechnology from Anna University, India and is a recipient of the Khorana Fellowship in 2009.
